I just have to tell you how this book/diet [The Coconut Diet] has completely changed my world. Honestly.
At the same time that I got a physical and was told that I had hypothyroidism (extremely slow metabolism) and advised to see a specialist/endocrinologist, I picked up a copy of this book. Most fortunately, much of the book deals with the problem specifically.
Due to hypothyroidism, I had put about ten extra pounds on my frame since about four years ago. I had not been able to get rid of [this]. I had tried dieting, major exercise, even fasting to no avail. I had just attributed the weight to getting older and resigned myself to it.
About one week prior to my appointment to see the endocrinologist, I started the Coconut Diet. Well, it's been 3/12 weeks, and this is something I can definitely live happily with forever. I cut out all sugar and sugar substitutes. (I'd been loving and using Sweet 'N Low for about 25 years.) Now I use only Stevia and Xylitol. I gave up all caffeine. I take virgin coconut oil every day or use it in my cooking. I cannot tell you how good I feel. One of the symptoms of hypothyroidism is extreme lethargy, which I'd been feeling to a terrible degree for about nine months. I actually used to go home from work some nights and go right to bed. Since doing the Coconut Diet, I have been up and energetic! I could literally feel it after the first week. I'm now fine going to bed at 11 p.m. and waking up at 5 a.m. Plus, I have lost 10 pounds. The endocrinologist said that I indeed had hypothyroidism. I said I suspected so. I told him about the Coconut Diet that I've been following. He said that if I felt good, why take medication (Synthrax). Keep doing what I'm doing and we'd monitor the situation.
It is really very incredible for me. I just wanted to share this with you. I want to thank you for publishing and publicizing this truly amazing book.

We have had such marvelous results from the diet that we will definitely keep it up. We have both lost weight (me=6lbs, my wife=10lbs total, 8lbs the first week) in Phase I. Since no sugar during the last 21 days, I've noticed that all my joint and muscle pain has gone away. Wow, how sugar has such an evil effect! So, thanks again for your recomendations. We look forward to continual cleansing as we progress with the diet.

I just wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed your coconut diet! I wanted to lose 15 pounds. I had been working out 6 days a week, and watching what I ate, but just maintaining. Then I tried the coconut diet and within ten days I lost 9 pounds! I really love how it makes me feel too. I now have the final 6 pounds to go.
